Letter to the President on SANDF deployment

To the office of the President:

We note a report on DefenceWeb.co.za that the SANDF deployment as part of “Operation Fiela” has been extended to March 2016.

We request urgent confirmation from your office:
(a) the reasons for the employment of the defence force;
(b) any place where the force is being employed;
(c) the number of people involved; and
(d) the period for which the force is expected to be employed.

We also request confirmation of whether or not the President has sent the above information to Parliament, and if not, by when he will do so.
