R2K Gauteng and DLF join Youth Day march in Soweto
Take Back Our Democracy and June 16th!
Our Struggle Was and Is a People’s Struggle!
We celebrate their lives because they died for all of us
THE FIGHT TO “SCRAP THE SECRECY BILL” CONTINUES
The Department of State Security STILL refuses to listen:
- Our rights to access information under the Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA) is STILL under threat!
- Our right to information is important for our other rights – water, electricity, housing, a safe environment, etc… and must not be compromised.
- Thousands of people have spoken in favour of a public interest defence clause yet the Department refuses to include it
The Department of State Security believes “It is too risky to leave it up to the members of the public to decide what is in the public interest,” (Dennis Dlomo, Acting Director-General.)
Join the protest march on June 16 to protect citizen’s rights to access to information and free expression, in the interests of social justice.
Meet at Morris Isaacson School, Jabavu, Soweto at 10 a.m.
March to the Hector Pieterson memorial in Orlando West.
