URGENT MEDIA ALERT: Free the Angolan Activists!
On Tuesday, R2K Gauteng members will be picketing outside the Angolan Embassy in Pretoria calling for an immediate release of 17 youth activists who were arrested for reading a well-known book by Gene Sharp on non-violent civil resistance. They were charged for allegedly planning a plot to topple President José Eduardo dos Santos in March. The charges stemmed from a June 2015 meeting in which the group discussed the book.
