Freedom Week 2017: Film Screenings
We are calling on R2K supporters to consider hosting a screening of one of these films between 27 April and 3 May 2017:
IncorruptibleIncorruptible is a documentary telling the story of the 2011 crisis on Senegal when the President decided to change the constitution to allow for a third term. An artist-led youth movement erupted to protect one of Africa’ oldest and most stable democracies. In a time where SA’s democracy faces its own unaccountable President, ‘Incorruptible’ offers a positive, hopeful example while at the same time honestly examining the sustainability of a people’s movement, and the role that youth are taking in shaping the future of their own country. The film raises issues of executive accountability and popular power that resonate in South Africa today. |
