The Epic Youth Matters distributes food and cleaning hampers in Clare Estate, Durban

By Michelle Chetty

The Epic Youth Matters started distributing food and cleaning hampers to the families of the children in the Palmiet Zone 1 area in Clare Estate, Durban. This was started because the organisation’s director was concerned that the children, who usually find some safety and at least a sandwich at school, would now not be able to get any of that due to the lockdown.

People have been generous enough to donate to our organisation and we have distributed 55 hampers so far with the assistance of the Sydenham Police other members of the community. This is a very small number but we are continuing to raise funds so that we can assist as many families as possible in this area and other areas. If people would like to donate please do so. The need is great so we must all do as much as we can.

Epic Youth Matters is an NPO that seeks to assist and uplift youth with various issues. One of our main focuses is healing, restoration and empowerment for girls and boys and prevention of boys from becoming perpetrators of abuse. So our work is very much in the GBV sphere.

We are assisting with interventions in the C19 Peoples Coalition KZN network at the moment.
